A Bedford Street fixture

We opened on Bedford Street in 2012 as Hudson Grille, back when this stretch of downtown was still finding itself. In 2018 we became Hudson Social. The name changed; the bet did not. Stamford wanted somewhere to settle in rather than pass through.

The room took its cues from the parlors of an earlier era: low light, warm wood, a bar you can sit at alone without feeling like you are waiting for someone. Nothing about it asks you to hurry.

The food followed the same logic. Small plates that get passed around and argued over. Seafood that came in that morning. Pizza out of the brick oven with the edges properly charred. Cocktails built by people who care whether the drink is balanced.

Fourteen years on, we have fed first dates, closing dinners, rehearsal parties, and a lot of Tuesdays. Some of the same faces have been at the bar since the Hudson Grille days. That is the part we are proudest of.
